The brand name for a printer model produced by Hewlett-Packard. The LaserJet has its own language called PCL that defines the way characters and graphics are printed on the page. This language has now become one of the two standards for sending data from a computer to a laser printer. The other language is called PostScript. Many laser printers are LaserJet-compatible. This means that if you set up Windows so that it is configured to support an HP LaserJet, it will work with any LaserJet-compatible printer.
